Get ready to kick off the holiday season in the most eco-friendly way possible! Presented by Peace of Art and supported by City Developments Limited (CDL), the second edition of the annual Sustainable Christmas Market is here and it’s bigger and better than ever. Set to take place on the weekend of 11 – 12 November 2023, at the vibrant South Beach, this event promises to be a festive extravaganza with a purpose.
An Event with a Triple-Dose of Eco-Friendly Cheer
This year’s Sustainable Christmas Market has tripled in size, bringing together over 80 participating brands offering a wide range of unique eco-products. So, if you’re looking for sustainable and eco-conscious gifts for your loved ones, this is the place to be. From handcrafted goods to eco-friendly lifestyle products, there’s something for everyone.
Fun and Educational Activities for All Ages
But the Sustainable Christmas Market is not just about shopping. It’s also about learning, staying fit, and having a great time with friends and family. The event includes a variety of educational handicraft workshops suitable for all ages, ensuring that everyone can get in on the creative fun. And for those who want to break a sweat, there are fitness sessions that will get your heart pumping. From non-stop entertainment to activities that engage your body and mind, this event has it all.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
One of the most heartwarming aspects of this event is its commitment to giving back to the community. All donations and sales proceeds from various activities will go towards the Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts programme. This incredible initiative provides academic support and mentorship for children living in Singapore’s public rental flats, with the aim of “Giving Every Child a Chance.” By participating in the event, you’re not only enjoying a fantastic time but also contributing to a brighter future for these young hearts.
A Special Guest and Exciting Announcements
To make this event even more memorable, it will be graced by the presence of a special guest: Mr. Alvin Tan, Minister of State (MOS) for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Ministry of Trade and Industry. He will officially open the event, and that’s not all. Mr. Tan will also announce the expansion of the Young Hearts programme, showing a commitment to empowering children in need.
The Minister of State will also participate in various activities throughout the day, including a Christmas workshop with the Young Hearts beneficiaries. It’s an opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the spirit of giving. Additionally, Chef Janice Wong will join in a cocoa tree planting ceremony, contributing to the development of Singapore-origin chocolates.
