Studio 1939, the acclaimed speakeasy bar tucked away on the third floor of the iconic Potato Head Singapore on Keong Saik Road, is introducing its latest culinary delight, the “Palette of Sounds” cocktail menu.
Inspired by art, music, and locality, this innovative menu is a fusion of diverse regional spirits and ingredients, weaving together the realms of art and music into a tapestry of delightful flavours. In a nod to how a painter uses their palette to mix colors and realise their artistic vision, each cocktail is carefully crafted by Studio 1939’s bar team, aimed at evoking emotions and creating unique sensory experiences.
“Much like a work of art, the drinks really are up for interpretation depending on your perspective. The cocktails are easy and simple, yet somehow still fun and complex.” Shared Kavish Hurrydoss, Bar Manager and Head Bartender, Studio 1939.
The menu offers a wide array of options to cater to every personality and occasion. From the smooth jazz-infused notes of the Ottis Rock (S$26) with bourbon, coffee, green apple, chocolate, and a hint of jalapeno, to the vibrant and abstract expressions of the Rhythm and Vase (S$23), a low-ABV mix of vermouth, watermelon, yuzu, citrus, Perrier, and Aer, there is something to suit everyone’s taste.
Get captivated by the Imagine Dragon (S$23), built around the striking red hues of dragon fruit combined with gin, peach, pineapple, calamansi, and lemongrass, or the Sun Won’t Set (S$26), which is inspired by Indian flavours, featuring a harmonious blend of chaat masala, mango citrus, mace, and curry leaf mixed with mezcal and tequila for a spice-forward tipple.
Local flavours shine through in the Voice of the Moon (S$21), which celebrates Samai Kampot pepper from Cambodia with a mix of rum, starfruit, coconut, lime, and salt. For the adventurous spirits, the Trust Your Bartender option (S$28) allows guests to collaborate with the bartender to create a personalized drink from base spirit and flavors to presentation and style.
Studio 1939 aims to elevate its cocktail offerings with the new Palette of Sounds menu, bringing a new level of creativity and hospitality to the speakeasy bar scene without pretension.
Open daily from 5 pm to midnight, Studio 1939 is a cherished addition to Keong Saik Road’s vibrant nightlife. With its much-loved food menu featuring iconic Three Buns burgers by Executive Chef Adam Penney, Studio 1939 continues to deliver a holistic and memorable experience.
