Known as the “float out,” this pivotal moment in Utopia’s creation has been 17 months in the making. The intricate process, which unfolded over nearly 15 hours, commenced with the gradual filling of the ship’s dry dock with a staggering 46 million gallons of water overnight. With the water as its canvas, Utopia was carefully moved into an outfitting dock, where the final touches will be lovingly applied throughout the summer of 2024.

Since the ship’s construction kicked off in April 2022, it has taken shape through the assembly of more than 74 colossal steel blocks, each meticulously positioned to craft the vessel’s impressive form. As Utopia enters its next phase, the ship will begin to buzz with activity as its highly anticipated features are installed. Among the highlights are the 295-foot-long Ultimate Abyss, the longest dry slide at sea, and a groundbreaking immersive train car dining experience.
