I just got the keys to my new home recently with my son Asher and other the usual running, cycling and swimming we do together to keep fit and stay healthy, we have been looking for other sporting activities to enjoy together.
We visited our favourite sporting equipment chain store, Decathlon, and found these four innovative products which fit what we wanted.
The four products are part of their innovative range of products, rolled out to make play easy.
This is our favourite of them all. Asher and I picked up badminton during the Circuit Breaker period as an alternative way to keep fit while playing. One major problem we always had was the absence of a badminton net to gauge the height for us to volley the shuttlecocks.
This nifty product from Decathlon provides a quick fit. Light-weight and easy-to-assemble, the whole set costs just $60 and incldues 2 rackets, 2 shuttlecocks and even a standing net! Now, we can just brining this along and enjoy a fun game of badminton anytime, anywhere!
Our next favourite item is Decathlon’s 2 Second Easy camping tent. The biggest barrier when going outdoor camping is really the setting up of a tent to stay in. What if there is a tent that can be assembled within 2 seconds?
I kid you not. That is exactly what this product does. You can open and flip it, and out pops a tent! Super easy, fast and convenient.
The only catch is that the folding back of the tent requires a bit more effort. It took us about 10 minutes to figure it out, but this was on the first try and I am sure we will get quicker with practise.
Don’t you find it cumbersome to have to bring along earpieces and a bandana or headband at the same time when you want some music while on a long jog? A headband and earpieces are two of the must-have items for me when I go jogging for more than 10km. What if these two items can be combined into one?
This product does just that and it is the first ever bluetooth headband from Decathlon whereby the earpiece is built into the headband itself. The fabric wicks perspiration away to keep you dry while running and the earpieces have a 5-hour battery life, enough for a full marathon.
This is a snorkeling observation buoy designed for kids and adults alike. It allows you to view marine life without having to put your head underwater – and hence it allows you to chat while enjoying the view. It’s also an ideal product for kids who are not so confident in swimming yet to still view marine life.
Although both Asher and I are proficient swimmers, we found it useful when dipping in the sea by the beach to lay back and relax while observing what is underwater.
There are many more fun and innovative products at Decathlon to help everyone to enjoy play, while keeping fit and healthy. Best of all, they are all priced extremely reasonably and you won’t have to burn a big hole in your pockets. Visit the official Decathlon website or one of their many stores across Singapore to discover them for yourself.
