Asylum seeker and public pedophilia advocate Amos Yee has pleaded not guilty to charges of grooming and child pornogrpahy in the United States. He was granted asylum there after running afoul with Singaporean law in relation to online posts about the late leader Lee Kuan Yew.
According to a post by Channel News Asia, Amos was indicted three weeks ago by a grand jury, and plead his case before a Chicago judge. The same report mentioned that evidence showed he had been sending nude photos to a 14-year-old Texan girl. He exchanged thousands of messages with the girl over WhatsApp in February to June 2019.
The messages and the photos were discovered when the girl told a group that was formed to expose pedophiles about Amos. Their online relations had soured at that point.
On October 14, US Marshals from Homeland Security arrested Yee in his Chicago home. A previous report from Alvinology mentioned that the girl repeatedly brought up her age in their conversations, and Amos instructed her to remove her age from her WhatsApp profile.
During the trial, Amos was allegedly asked several times by the public defender assigned to him to keep quiet, as the former kept trying to interrup proceedings, saying he had information to add to the case.
“Do not open your mouth right now, Amos,” the assistant public defender repeatedly warned him. “Just keep your mouth shut.”
According to a report by The Independent, prior to getting arrested, he and another person online named Kokichi Oma had allegedly set up a chat group on Discord, saying, “I’ve been running a pedo-friendly discord server for the past few weeks and I’m looking for new members. This discord server is not open to the public so if you’d like to join, private message me here on Facebook with a small intro of yourself (your views on pedophilia, your political views, how big of an Amos Yee fan you are), and if you’re cool I’ll pop you a link.”
Amos also reportedly offered lessons on pedophilia, and said, “lessons on pedophilia to people where Amos will teach members about the positions of pedophiles and hopefully make them motivated to start speaking up for them, or existing pedo defenders can learn debate tactics and how to sound more convincing when putting forth an argument.”
He also asked people to join the chat server to discuss views on pedophilia so he could also coach them on how to put forth their arguments better when supporting their cause.
He was not allowed to use the internet while awaiting trial, and his bail was set at $1 million US.
He plead not guilty, and has been in asylum in the United States for three years. His next court date would be on December 18.
Known for his incendiary views against former Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, Amos didn’t waste any time trying to establish the same angle when he settled in the US. After he was granted asylum, he began making YouTube videos expressing his unpopular opinions on incendiary topics–one of them pedophilia.
He at first created a video asking for donations and even set up a Patreon page to monetize his online audience. A previous report from Alvinology said that he was staying in someone’s house in Chicago in 2017 but was asked to move out by December of that year because he was considered a danger to the children in the house thanks to his pedophilia support.
He had also tried to stir up buzz about his status in the United States in 2017 by changing his online name from Amos Yee to “Polocle.” The Chicago Sun-Times has since branded him an “internet troll.”
On his now-defunct website, he called said, “I’m a 21-year-old, ex-Singaporean, now American, living in Chicago. I’m also a far-left Anarchist, pro-vegan, atheist, Pedophile Right’s Activist.”
