As the lone woman in the Orchard Tower murder case, Natalie Siow Yu Zhen has been sentenced to five months in prison for charges of assault, and had accepted the plea deal with with the prosecution for admitting guilty.
But while she was waiting for the sentencing and other particulars of her case, she was active on social media, selling various items online even before the COVID-19 pandemic started. According to her public Instagram account, she sells popiah crackers and beauty products. She also previously promoted eyelash products.
However, with her impending prison sentence of five months, she had to arrange for someone to take over her various online enterprises.
According to a previous report by Alvinology, Natalie Siow Yu Zhen, 24, was part of a group of seven people initially convicted for murdering 31-year-old Noel Satheesh Gobidass on July 2, 2019 at Orchard Tower. Her charges were downgraded to assault but she was slapped with new charges as investigations revealed the full extent of her involvement in the crime.
She pleaded to guilty on October 9, Friday for one charge each of being in the company of Tan Sen Yang, 29, who had a foldable Karambit knife in his possession, and causing hurt to Satheesh by kicking and punching him together with Tan Sen Yang, Joel Tan Yun Sheng, 27, and Ang Da Yuan, 27.
Tan Sen Yang has yet to be sentenced, and was still up for a murder charge as he had brandished the Karambit knife earlier in the evening of the crime, and had used it to injure two others during the time. Natalie was only found to have kicked and punched the victim.
Is Natalie Siow Yu Zhen the next Singaporean influencer?
With her pending prison stint, though, she had to find someone to handle her online businesses. She told her followers and customers that her friends would be running her enterprises while she was “away” officially, alluding to her sentence.
You can see her advisory on her Instagram account:
She also asked people to continue supporting her popiah cracker business in particular for her parents in the Instagram caption.
Would be really grateful if y’all can continue to support my popiah seaweed crackers (it really means ALOT to me and my parents).
To all my existing loyal customers, do keep your restocks orders coming in before I’m officially away for awhile. Just to clarify, it’s not I don’t trust my friends on handling my biz because there are still new customers sending in their enquires for every product and my friends might not be experienced enough to reply ASAP so do allow them some times to get back on your orders.
Anyway, this is just a prep. I will still be around until you don’t hear my voice on my IG stories but LMAO just kidding hahaha but yeah.
I really appreciate all understanding and hope that my posts are clear on my end.
