Huawei announces the availability of Huawei Pay in Singapore, just in time for the sale of HUAWEI P40 Series.
The Huawei Pay launch is in collaboration exclusively with UnionPay by Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), where Huawei Pay is a mobile payment tool that provides contactless, cashless payment service for HUAWEI and HONOR device users. The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Singapore (ICBC Singapore) is the first bank to support this service in Singapore.
Between 1 April and 30 September 2020, users in Singapore can enjoy benefits such as HUAWEI Points rewards and shopping cashback by registering their ICBC UnionPay credit cards and making payments via Huawei Pay.
Users can enable Huawei Pay by adding their bank cards to HUAWEI Wallet app. The HUAWEI Wallet app comes preloaded in the newly launched HUAWEI P40 series, while for the older HUAWEI and HONOR smartphone models, the app can be downloaded from HUAWEI AppGallery.
Huawei Pay supports Near Field Communication (NFC) payment in retail stores. Users can complete their transactions by simply tapping their HUAWEI or HONOR devices near to the Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal instead of their credit cards. To ensure payment security, Huawei Pay uses biometric authentication methods such as facial and fingerprint recognition to authenticate customers for retail purchases.
ICBC UnionPay Singapore Cardholders to enjoy rewards with Huawei Pay
In celebration of the launch, Singapore users who register ICBC UnionPay credit cards to Huawei Pay will receive a welcome gift of 10 HUAWEI Points (worth S$10). The HUAWEI Points can be used to offset in-app transactions for HUAWEI AppGallery, Themes, Video, Mobile Cloud and more.
Moreover, from 1 April to 30 September, ICBC UnionPay credit card users get to earn cashback up to S$20 by completing different tiers of payment transactions via Huawei Pay during the campaign period. No minimum spend is required for each qualifying Huawei Pay transaction.
