COVID-19 may have postponed several events, but not #BuySingLit 2020 – will push through on March as planned

In view of the evolving COVID-19 situation and following the Ministry of Health raising the DORSCON level to orange, #BuySingLit has made some adjustments to this year’s programmes in order to ensure the health and safety of the participants.

The main highlights of #BuySingLit will still go on as planned in the first two weekends of March, including:

  • SingLit Power House
  • Hello SingLit! X Arts in Your Neighbourhood
  • Textures – A Weekend with Words

Precautionary measures will be put in place at the respective venues, such as temperature taking, travel declaration forms and contact tracing. Participants who are feeling unwell, or are on Leave of Absence, or have been to China in the past two weeks are advised not to attend.

A small number of events have been cancelled, while 35 events have been postponed to a later date. The postponed programmes include:

  • Sing Lit Sounds
  • Singapore Malay Book Fair 2020
  • Writers’ Book Room

Please stay tuned to the #BuySingLit website and social media channels (@buysinglit) for further updates regarding the rescheduled dates for these events.

#BuySingLit 2020 remains dedicated to the mission of celebrating and promoting Singapore literature.

Everyone is encouraged to adopt good personal hygiene practices and seek medical attention immediately if they are feeling unwell. The event organizers will also continue to monitor the present situation regarding COVID-19 closely along with their programme and venue partners.
