AB6IX and line-up of Asian celebrities dazzle at StarHub Night of Stars 2019

A dazzling line-up of 18 Asian celebrities graced the “green carpet” at the StarHub Night of Stars awards show held at the Marina Bay Sands Theatre on Sunday evening. Among them, K-pop group AB6IX set fans screaming at the highest octaves.

Host for Starhub Night Of Stars 2019 – Dennis Nieh, Lulu Huang and Kate Pang hamming it up for the audience with a skit.

Hosts Dennis Nieh, Lulu Huang and Kate Pang returned to bring the house down, entertaining audiences with witty repartee in between spectacular performances by Singapore songstress Joanna Dong, Cantopop superstar Ekin Cheng, Mandopop singer Yoga Lin and TVB Drama OST Award recipient Fred Cheng.

Joanna Dong opened the evening’s show by singing a mashup of hit drama serial theme songs.
Cantopop superstar Ekin Cheng pulled out all the stops with an entourage of costumed dancers.
Mandopop artiste Yoga Lin regaled the audience with his melodious singing.
AB6IX received the 2019 StarHub Rising Star Award.

Acting Awards at the StarHub Night of Stars 2019

Korean stars Kim Jae Uck and Park Min Young, who starred in romantic comedy Her Private Life, snagged the 2019 StarHub Best Male and Female Asian Star Awards, which were the highest accolades of the night.

Yang Mi, who played the leading role of a gifted architect in Chinese drama The Great Architect, bagged the 2019 StarHub Best Actress (China) Award. Xu Kai, who played the role of a cheeky and playful cadet in hit Chinese drama series Arsenal Military Academy, clinched the StarHub Best Actor (China) Award. His co-star, newcomer Bai Lu, who played a modern Hua Mulan disguised as a male cadet, earned the 2019 StarHub Most Promising Actress Award.

Korean artiste Ong Seong Wu received the 2019 StarHub Most Promising Actor Award for his acting debut, portraying a reclusive high school student in in At Eighteen.

James Wen won the 2019 StarHub Most Outstanding Actor Award for his role in legal crime drama Best Interest. His co-star, Tian Xin, received the 2019 StarHub Most Outstanding Actress Award.

TVB’s drama Big White Duel swept three acting awards with Ali Lee, Kenneth Ma and Natalie Tong respectively receiving the 2019 StarHub Best Drama Character Award, 2019 StarHub Best TVB Male and Female Artiste Award.

2019 StarHub Rising Star Award winner K-pop idol group AB6IX sent hordes of fans into a tizzy with an electrifying performance of their hit songs Breathe and Blind For Love.

Nancy Sit, known for her iconic role as Hao Yi in A Kindred Spirit (1995), took home the 2019 Most Caring Star Award.

The 2019 StarHub Favourite Variety Show Award went to Running Man. The 2019 StarHub Favourite Korean Drama Male Character Award went to Park Jin Young for He Is Psychometric. The 2019 StarHub Favourite Local Production Award went to the StarHub Night of Stars 2018.

StarHub customers can catch the premiere of StarHub Night of Stars on Hub E City (StarHub Channel 111/825) on December 8, 2019, 7pm. The programme will also be available on the StarHub Go streaming app, under the Go Local reel, free to all in Singapore from December 9, 2019. A rerun will also be telecast on Hub VV Drama (StarHub Channel 855) at 10.30pm on January 10, 2020.
