Bread Street Kitchen celebrates Wellington Month in Singapore

The classic Beef Wellington is known to many as Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay‘s greatest dish and this month of June, Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen at Marina Bay Sands is celebrating “Wellington Month” together with all the other Gordon Ramsay restaurants worldwide by offering a special wellington menu.

Bread Street Kitchen’s signature beef filet wellington

For the whole month of June, the restaurant took the wellington game up a notch with two limited-time specials: the lobster and saffron risotto wellington (S$65++) and the lamb wellington with minted red wine jus, green peas, baby bock choy and sundried tomatoes (S$59++). Diners can also savour Bread Street Kitchen’s signature beef filet wellington (S$80++) – a classic assembly of juicy seared filet mignon, salty prosciutto, herb crepe, and savoury mushroom duxelles encased in a golden crisp pastry crust, as well as the plant-based Impossible wellington (S$39++).

During a dinner tasting, we sampled all the lamb, lobster and beef wellingtons:

lobster and saffron risotto wellington (S$65++)
lamb wellington with minted red wine jus, green peas, baby bock choy and sundried tomatoes (S$59++)
signature beef filet wellington (S$80++)

I am usually not a fan of puff pastries as they make me feel bloated after eating them, but for these wellingtons, they complement the meat well, adding to the texture with that extra crunch. The signature beef wellington was a delight as always, following Ramsay’s tried and tested recipe which is so well-loved around the world. With the lobster and lamb appearing on the menu for a limited time only, it’s worth trying both of them as they are also priced lower than the beef wellington.

The portions are generous and between two diners, we took some effort to finish up all three wellingtons, only because they were so good. Our recommendation is to go with a group of friends so that you can switch the wellingtons around to try each of the three and truly celebrate the Wellington Month. We saw several other diners doing this.

While enjoying the classic British wellington dishes, consider pairing them with some of the batender’s cocktail creations. The Five O’clock (S$22++), Bread Street Kitchen’s own recipe of the famous British claried milk punch is a good choice. The cocktail features whisky, English breakfast tea, pineapple, spices, lemon and clarified milk, served in a cute little teapot to add to the overall Britishness of your wellington meal.

Five O’clock (S$22++)

Enjoy!
