We took photos taken with a Huawei P20 Pro out on the street for a blind test versus similar photos taken with a DSLR – here’s the result

Can the AI-enhanced photography features of the revolutionary Huawei P20 Pro really be better than a DSLR?

We decided to run a blind test with strangers off the street in Singapore to find out the answer.

For the test, we took a few matching pair of photos taken at the exact same spot and timing – one taken with a Huawei P20 Pro and the other with a DSLR camera from a famous brand using the auto mode.

Here’s the result when we asked strangers off the street to choose which photo they prefer and why:

While there were some who chose the photos taken with the DSLR camera, most of the choices veered towards the Huawei P20 Pro. Some of the members of public were genuinely surprised when they found out they picked the photos taken using a smartphone camera instead of a DSLR.

We are an advocate for the triple Leica lens and AI-enhanced photography feature of the Huawei P20 Pro, but to be fair, the DSLR is still the preferred mode of photography for professionals who know how to adjust the camera settings manually to get the best photographic effects.

For most of the common consumers though, the Huawei P20 Pro is the idiot-proof way to take amazing photos just about every time with just point-and-shoot.

Check out these images we took with the P20 Pro without any manual adjust made to the camera settings.

If you still need further affirmation, head down to your local handphone shop and try out the Huawei P20 Pro for yourself and be wowed away with its amazing photography feature. 🙂
