Kia Stinger – fastest rear-driven gran turismo sports sedan

Kia Motors is proud to introduce the new powerful fastback sports sedan – Stinger. Inspired by the design and engineering blueprint of 2011 Kia GT Concept, the Kia Stinger is the highest performing vehicle in terms of production in the company’s history.

The Stinger is a sleek performance car that unites technology and design. Mr Eric Chan, Managing Director, Cycle & Carriage Singapore, said, “I am confident that this Kia flagship will be able to raise perceptions for the brand and change the mindset that Kia is just a mass market car manufacturer. Kia. This is the car that will truly go beyond any expectation.”

Kia Stinger is a true Gran Turismo according to the Chief Designer at Kia Motors Europe Gregory Guillaume. He promises that the vehicle is not all about power and brutal styling and leaving behind comfort and grace. The new Stinger is all about journey and passion.

Turbocharged engines are equipped to allow drivers to experience an effortless high-speed cruising and acceleration. The 3.3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 ‘Lambda II’ engine delivers its power of 370 ps at 6,000 rpm, while the full 510 Nm torque is accessible from 1,300 rpm.

Stinger’s bodyshell is comprised of 55 percent Advanced High Strength Steel to reduce noise and vibration for a quiet cabin. The standard GT variant, rack-mounted motor-driven power steering wheel, also contributes to a reduced vibrations while driving.

While the fastest Gran Turismo is shaking the market, the vehicle is not being left off when it comes to safety concerns. The Blind Spot Detection system triggers oncoming cars in your blind spot while changing lane. It is also equipped with Kia’s Vehicle Stability Management to ensure stability under braking. It is also surrounded with seven standard airbags located at the driver and front passenger, front side, curtain and driver knee.

The Smart Power Tailgate system enables the boot to be opened automatically via the smart key or with a button in the cabin. The tailgate also opens itself if it detects the owner’s smart key within close range to the rear of the car for three seconds. This is convenient if the owner doesn’t have a spare hand to open the boot.

Kia Stinger is on sale from 11 January 2018 and will be available in Singapore with a choice of two engines: 2.0-litre turbo engine and a 3.3-litre V6 engine along with 10-year engine warranty and 5-year unlimited mileage warranty. Find out more about Kia Stinger in their online showroom.
