French hotel group AccorHotels recently refreshed their MyResorts suite of benefits for their Le Club AccorHotels members, letting 100 resorts in Asia Pacific to tailor local experiences to make travel dreams come true. These benefits are designed to make the stay at AccorHotels resorts across Asia Pacific extra special and memorable.
This time round, we headed down to Novotel Phuket Karon Beach Resort & Spa to check out the refreshed MyResorts benefits.
Novotel Phuket Karon Beach Resort & Spa
The 4-star Novotel Phuket Karon Beach Resort and Spa features 224 rooms and 7 accommodation options, ranging from standard rooms to plunge pool suites. The resort has 3 restaurants – casual poolside dining at Joe Kool’s; Thai and regional cuisine at TAI restaurant and Horizon Cafe for buffet spreads. It also features a fitness centre, kid’s club, a spa and 3 swimming pools, including one with a kids’ water slide. The hotel is located about 10 minutes’ drive from the excitement of Patong and right across Karon Beach.
Without further ado, let’s check out the MyResorts benefits.
First off, you really should sign up for the Le Club AccorHotels membership, AccorHotels’ loyalty programme. Registration is FREE and it unlocks a world of discounts and privileges such as access to the MyResorts programme.
For the refreshed MyResorts programme, the benefits will vary for each hotel to showcase the best experience for their respective guests versus a cookie cutter offering. This includes a comprehensive suite of benefits including MyGlass, MyKids, MyConnect, MyHost and more, with a range of inclusions and rewards according to membership tier – some are free, some for a nominal fee – that will ensure travellers get the best value for their money and can experience their destination in style.
One of the signature elements of the offer is MyGlass, whereby for a small fee guests can enjoy a beverage experience. Depending on the resort you are staying in, your exclusive beverage experience may range from a cocktail-making class to wine-tasting or sunset drinks.
At Novotel Phuket Karon Beach Resort & Spa, for a flat rate of THB 599++ (~SGD 25) per person per day, you get to enjoy free flow of non-alcoholic drinks for 24/7; and free flow of the resort’s signature beverages from 7 pm – 10 pm every night at the resort’s own Champions Sports Bar. The list of beverages includes a fine selection of signature cocktails, spirits, house wine and beer.
Families will appreciate the MyKids offer, which promises great experiences for kids, from fun activities to delicious meals and more for a small fee. Depending on the resort you are staying in, kids may participate in cooking classes, enjoy special treats throughout their stay or plant a tree to help the local environment.
At Novotel Phuket Karon Beach Resort & Spa, for a flat rate of THB 299 ++ (~SGD 15) per child per day, your kids get to enjoy the resort’s all-inclusive children’s menus, access to Kids Club, dinners with Super Heroes as well as daily fun activities, and free movies sessions.
If you are a Gold or Platinum member, you can also make use of MyExtratime to enjoy early check-in from 8am and late checkout up to 5pm, uopn request and availability. For Silver members, this is under the enhanced benefit whereby you need to top up a little to enjoy the service.
What can you do with the extra time at the resort?
Well, you can check out their well-equipped gym for a quick workout:
I managed to squeeze in an 30 minutes jog on the treadmill before showering and heading off to the airport to burn off those extra calories from all the fine food I have been indulging in (which will be covered in another post).
Alternatively, you can also take a dip in any of the three swimming pools in the resort or just cross the road to take a stroll along Karon Beach or check out the nearby local night market.
Gold or Platinum members also enjoy a complimentary upgrade to the next available room category for their whole stay under MyUpgrade, upon request and availability, not to mention access to MyHost, a highly personalised and complimentary benefit reserved only for AccorHotels’ most esteemed members. A dedicated host will be at your service to manage your entire stay and resort experience which includes your dinner reservations, tour bookings, spa treatments, children’s activities, housekeeping services and many more.
I was flying off on a night flight at 9pm and was extremely grateful for the late checkout which allows me to spend more time resting in the beautiful room I was checked into, not to mention the awesome room upgrade upon arrival and also having a dedicated host to plan a full itinerary for me.
This is the room I stayed at whereby I was given a surprise welcome by a staff dressed up as Batman (head image) when I first arrived:
My host very thoughtfully arranged for all the car transfers to and from the airport as well as to the best dining and shopping destinations in Phuket. Knowing that I should be tired after a day of activities, she arranged for a massage session at the resort spa on the second day:
