Book a Grab through the Singapore Air mobile app; KrisFlyer and GrabRewards members get additional perks

Just when you thought Uber had the monopoly on ride sharing everywhere, Grab does something different.

Grab is announcing a new and official partnership with Singapore Airlines, to provide customers with more seamless travel experiences.

This partnership sees SIA and Grab integrating their mobile apps to offer enhanced convenience to customers, and marks the official coming together of two of Singapore’s biggest brands and success stories – the world’s most awarded airline and Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing and payments platform.

Here’s what the partnerships means for customers:

  • Starting today, SIA customers can book Grab rides through the SingaporeAir mobile app, when travelling to the airport in six countries across Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
  • Members of SIA’s KrisFlyer and Grab’s GrabRewards programmes will enjoy additional benefits, with GrabRewards members able to convert their GrabRewards points into KrisFlyer miles.
  • To celebrate the partnership, Grab and SIA are also launching a contest where customers stand a chance to win a pair of Business Class tickets to Hong Kong.

GrabPay Credits worth $10 if you book through the SingaporeAir mobile app

Customers using the app will see an option to book a Grab ride to the airport seven days before their scheduled flight. Selecting this option will direct customers to the Grab app, where they can choose to order a Grab ride to the airport on-demand or in advance. The airport will be automatically listed as the destination, so the user simply fills in the pick-up point and desired time. In addition, the first 5,000 customers will receive GrabPay Credits worth $10 in their Grab account for bookings made through the SingaporeAir mobile app for Grab rides in Singapore.

Win two business class tickets to Singapore

Customers also stand a chance to win a pair of Business Class tickets to Hong Kong in a contest. To take part, customers simply have to enter the code ‘GRABSQ’ in the promo field in the Grab app booking screen for every Grab ride they take between 9 October and 9 November 2017. The customer with the most Grab rides booked during this period will win.

What do you think of this partnership? Are you going to get a Grab from the airport or are you sticking with Uber? Let us know in the comments!
