There’s more to see in Indonesia, other than Bali. As such, AirAsia has teamed up with Ministry of Tourism Indonesia (MOTI) to promote key destinations in Indonesia that have been selected to fit the travel profile of those living in Singapore.
This is the second year of partnership between the airline and MOTI under the direction of the Minister of Tourism Indonesia, Arief Yahya.
This cooperation aims to promote Indonesia’s beautiful natural landscapes and its rich, unique flora and fauna to the Singapore market, in line with MOTI’s Wonderful Indonesia campaign.
AirAsia currently connects Singapore to five exciting destinations in Indonesia with non-stop flights to Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Semarang and Bali.
For guests who want to explore Indonesia further, AirAsia also flies to other destinations such as Aceh, Medan, Padang, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Solo, Pontianak, Lombok and Makassar from various AirAsia hubs.
Here are five exciting destinations in Indonesia, besides Bali:
Jakarta
The capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, is known for its city life, shopping, and night life. The city also offers wildlife at the mangrove forest and the national park.
The golf course is outside the city, so you will be able to avoid traffic. After golf, you can check out the Bogor Botanical Garden.
Bandung
The young (and young at heart) like to go to Bandung as it has nice weather, scenic landscapes, and Instgrammable cafes. It is also a hotspot for clothes and textiles at affordable prices.
If you enjoy the outdoors but dislike the usual camping, you can try Lakeside Glamping.
Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta, also known as Jogja, is blessed with natural beauty, monuments, and cultural traditions.
Adventure lovers, this city is for you – you can go cave tubing, sand surfing, rock climbing, and tightrope walking here.
Semarang
Located in northern Java, Semarang is a melting pot of Chinese, Indian Arab, and European cultures.
It is the perfect city to witness different cultures, historic buildings, and religious buildings such as the Demak Mosque and Sam Poo Kong Temple.
They also have the Rainbow Village which is a great photo zone.
Lombok
Besides scuba diving in Lombok, you can visit the volcanic peaks, Elephant Park and waterfalls.
The most popular waterfalls, Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep, are located in Senaru, at the foot of Mount Rinjani.
