Last Saturday, my son Asher got to meet the design lead for LEGO BrickHeadz, Marcos Bessa.
Bessa is from Portugal and graduated from the University of Porto College of Engineering with a Masters degree in Informatics and Computer Engineering. He joined LEGO as a designer in 2010 and went on to design many well-loved sets including LEGO Disney Castle,
LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto 1 & 2 and FireHouse, LEGO DC Batman: Arkham Asylum
Breakout and LEGO Marvel The SHIELD Helicarrier:
On 11 March, avid LEGO fans in Singapore had a rare opportunity to meet Bessa in person at a one-time only meet-and-greet and autograph session during the LEGO BrickHeadz launch event. This was followed by a workshop conducted by Bessa himself the next day.
Some pictures from the event:
The new LEGO BrickHeadz features fun and stylised versions of iconic characters reimagined in colourful LEGO system bricks along with distinct details for a humorous twist. The series will kick off with characters from THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE, including Batman, Robin, Batgirl and The Joker. Each character also comes with its collectable baseplate featuring the LEGO BrickHeadz icon and series number.
The first series launched over the weekend also includes characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America and The Hulk as well as one of Disney’s most popular and loved couples Belle and Beast, plus Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Armando Salazar from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Asher and I had fun piecing together our various figurines the past few days. We are now just short of the two figurines from Pirates of the Caribbean and will be eagerly awaiting their launch in Singapore stores, just like the many other LEGO BrickHeadz fans out there!

A classic infinite runner game is Subway Surfers. You take on the role of Jake, who attempts to get away from the sour Inspector and his dog by surfing the subways. https://subwaysurfs.io
