Chef’s Kitchen Table at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort

If you are in Bali, here is a culinary experience you should not miss – Chef’s Kitchen Table at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort.

The executive chef at the 5-star resort, Chef Rossano Renzelli, takes you behind the scenes of his kitchen for an exhilarating and unique dining experience. You will get up close and personal with the culinary team and learn directly from Chef Renzelli himself, watching him dish out his artful creations during the interactive dinner.

Best of all, it’s not all that expensive for such a truly premium experience! Priced at IDR 600,000++ (~SGD$60.60) per person, the cost is around the same for a ticket to a simple concert or theatre performance. Reservations is a must, with a minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 12, to keep the dining experience comfortable and cosy.

Did I mention that the exceptional 5-course dinner also comes with wine-pairing and Martini? Totally value-for-money if you ask me (and not many people know about this – yet).

The dinner experience begins with a sunset hour cocktail at The Lounge, a balcony bar in the resort where you can get a magnificent view of Kuta beach to savour the moment.

Great view, with glasses of the sunset cocktail
Gorgeous isn’t it?

Guests are then ushered into the real kitchen area of the resort where all the food are prepared. Chef Renzelli will bring you on a tour of each cooking station and walk the guests through the preparation process, while his crew serve out little samples, freshly prepared for you to savour on-the-spot.

The real dining experience begins thereafter. You will be ushered into a specially prepared makeshift kitchen dining set-up, whereby all the utensils and culinary wares are stuff from the kitchen.

These were the utensils we used
Raw egg and flour on the dining table
Freshly baked bread poured onto the table for guests to help ourselves
Salt and pepper comes in brown bags
Asher is all ready to eat

If you are wondering about the purplish hues, the dining area is lit with ultraviolet lights to give it a funky and fun feel, adding to the overall dining experience. Wear white or other light-coloured clothing for your dinner date there to glow and stand out from the crowd.

For each dish that is served, guests will get to prepare them together with Chef Renzelli and his team, learning something new about cooking along the way.

I will let the photos below walk you through the full dining experience:

Ready to prepare our own food
Plating the first dish together with the kitchen staff

The first course – a squid dish

As each dish is served, an in-house sommelier will introduce a paired wine and serve it together thereafter.

I enjoyed a wonderful dinner together with my son, Asher. I highly recommend the Chef’s Kitchen Table dining experience for an intimate and unforgettable culinary adventure in Bali. Couple this with a family stay at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort.
