Are you the type of guy who pride yourself as a handyman around the house who can fix anything?
Good news, there is a new place in Singapore for you to get the right tools and services for home improvement projects – Ace.
Courts, one of Singapore’s leading consumer electronics and furniture retailers, is opening Singapore’s largest home improvement solutions centre via a store-in-store concept with Ace, the world’s largest hardware co-operative.

Steve Church, Group Furniture Director of Courts, said: “More than 80% of Singaporeans live in HDB flats without a garage, balcony or garden where most DIY projects see fruition. Here at Courts, we carefully curated the products from Ace to ensure that they are Singapore-centric and suitable for the living space that we are used to. Instead of lawnmowers and chainsaws, expect to see products that optimise space, fulfill everyday living needs, and the necessary tools and equipment required to fix, repair and maintain homes.”
“Our relationship with Ace gives us exclusive access to more than 150,000 products from international brands at any one time, including those from trusted and popular American brands that Singaporeans have difficulty obtaining. We have also benchmarked against the local market to ensure the best value.”
The new range will feature more than 30 brands that are new to Singapore, majority of which are from the United States. Expect a myriad items and services, including tools, housewares, cleaning suppliers, bathroom accessories from InterDesign, security safes from First Alert, and decorative accessories from Canadian brand, Bouclair.
There are also a number of specialty items cycling enthusiasts and petrol heads will enjoy. Bell tires and Slime tube sealants for bicycles, as well as an impressive range of Little Trees fresheners and Marvel Mystery Oil for cars are some of the brands that are exclusive to Ace in Singapore. Those who fancy a barbeque get-together will also be spoilt for choice with an extensive range of grills, accessories, cooler bags and camping equipment for the perfect weekend outing.
The Ace Home Improvement Solutions store in Courts will officially open on 5 December 2015 with a line-up of activities, promotions and discounts.
Ace goodie bags and tool boxes (worth S$39) will be given away with purchases of S$149 and S$249 respectively.

I went to Courts Tampines with the high hope that ACE would carry lots of DIY stuffs that we wouldn’t be able to find locally in Singapore. I must say it’s a total disappointment when I found out that most of the items are basically common items that you can get easily from local hardware stores, some of the items in ACE are even sourced locally (eg., Nuts and bolts sourced from Horme..) , the only different thing is of course the items are of US brands. I don’t need another brands, I just need items that are not available locally in SG. It’s just another DIY store like HomeFix, Kelantan Lane stores are still the best place to go!
