Galore of Gourmet Delights at Marina Bay Sands’ Epicurean Market

Be spoilt for choices

Foodies in Singapore got to unleash their taste buds over the weekend at the Epicurean Market by Marina Bay Sands. Returning for a second year, the three days gourmet F&B event offered more than 65 leading brands and over 35 culinary master classes from 12 to 14 September.

I attended the event on Friday night, while my parents headed down on Sunday night, following my recommendation. All of us had great fun. I bumped into many fellow foodies at the event who had purchased admission tickets.

It’s all fun

The event is part of Marina Bay Sands’ Formula One celebration this year and features an indoor picnic theme within a garden setting. Guests got to savour dishes and wines from over 50 restaurants, wineries and leading brands, expand our culinary knowledge through the master classes and indulge in a market brimming with fresh produce:

Fresh from their Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants victories, award-winning chefs David Thompson (Long Chim) and Tetsuya Wakuda (Waku Ghin) joined their Singaporean contemporary Justin Quek (Sky on 57) in the line-up. Other renowned chefs who made appearances and gave master classes include Mozza’s Nancy Silverton, recipient of the 2014 James Beard Foundation’s coveted ‘Outstanding Chef’ award, and David Myers, award-winning chef and restaurateur from Los Angeles.

I took photos with chefs David Thompson and Justin Quek:

Of course, I sampled their culinary creations as well!

I popped by the Sky on 57 booth to try out their creations:

I attended chef Thompson’s masterclass where he shared his recipe for a thai curry dish during a live demonstration. I love his zany humour and engaging personality. All the attendees were tickled by his jokes and wowed by his creation:

At the wine appreciation area, we got to sample fine wines paired with scrumptious bites and enjoy live entertainment. At the central bar area, top bartenders and mixologists from the property gathered to serve their signature concoctions and demonstrate their craft:

Tickets were priced at S$23 per person for a three-day pass. Each ticket came with a pair of premium wine glasses by Schott Zwiesel which more than covered the ticket price! Great deal isn’t it? I like that the event is ticketed at a premium because there is less of a crowd and you get to enjoy your food and drinks comfortably.

If you have missed Marina Bay Sands’ Epicurean Market this year, do look out for it again next year! Alternatively, Marina Bay Sands host many other events all year round. Visit their official website for more information or follow Marina Bay Sands on their social media platforms. 🙂
