Suspended about three stories above the ground, my friend took a deep breath before she ran forward and jumped across metre-long gap between two narrow wooden planks.
No, she wasn’t making a daring escape.
Neither was she running for her life.
Instead, we were at MegaZip Adventure Park in Sentosa.
Though the attraction is named after the MegaZip, a 450 metre zip- line which takes you from the top of Imbiah Hill across the jungle, beach, sea and finally an island off Siloso Beach, I was more interested in ClimbMax.
And that’s where my friend had to make the leap of faith (with a safety harness, of course).
ClimbMax is a three-level high aerial ropes obstacles course, of which you can attempt two levels.
We opted for the two highest levels and I loved it (don’t know about my two friends who did not complete the course though :p).
Over the course, we had to cross wobbly bridges, balance on swaying tightropes and scramble along cargo nets high above the ground.
Some obstacles were relatively easy, while others require quite a bit of arm power and determination.
I have a slight quibble though.
I first tried MegaZip back in 2011, and three years on, the obstacles have remained the same.
It would have been nice if there were new obstacles to tackle, or if they increase the height of the obstacles (one can only wish).
In the meantime, though, it’s still a great place to hang out with your friends when you feel like getting your adrenaline pumping.
