Singapore Food Festival 2014 – BBQ by the Beach (ticket giveaway)

Heart -thumping fire twirling performances

Over the weekend, I dined by candlelight under the stars at Sentosa’s Palawan beach.

I was at  ‘BBQ by the Beach’, held under the Singapore Food Festival 2014, and an all-round treat to the senses!

I sunk my teeth into heavenly barbecued meats, seafood, spaghetti, wine and desserts while seated in specially sculptured sand tables and seats.

Seats skillfully sculptured from sand  by renowned local sand sculptor Joo Heng Tan

We are giving away 2 pairs of tickets so that you too can get a chance to savor this delectable food between 18 – 19 July 2014.

The traditional Hawaiian underground barbeque pit known as the ‘Imu’ is used to create succulent  BBQ Stingray with Sambal and Chin Chia Lok, BBQ Whole Squid and Sambal and grilled vegetables.

First introduced during the Singapore Food Festival in 2012 at Singapore’s first Sand Dining experience, this year’s ‘Imu’ will be even bigger than before, requiring more than six hours of setup time.

Mr Franco Goh, Manager, Island Business Sales, Sentosa Leisure Management believes that the event is being given a fresh spin as a sumptuous feast and immersive sand dining sets are available right on the beach where one can catch the perfect sunset.

This year, the Singapore Food Festival (SFF) will take place from 11 to 20 July 2014. Visitors to this festival can expect a walk down memory lane as it features some popular SFF events from the past with a twist.

Ms Ranita Sundramoorthy, Director of Attractions, Dining and Retail, Singapore Tourism Board, said, “This year, we are celebrating 50 years of tourism promotion and development. It is thus only apt to bring back some of Singapore Food Festival’s favourite events and talents from the past.”
