On Tuesday, Strepsils launched a nationwide singing contest, The Right Note, in celebration of World Voice Day 2014. The search for the best voices will be led by two home-grown artistes, Olivia Ong and Lee Wei Song.
Finalists will get the opportunity to perform alongside Olivia Ong and receive tips from her, while the winner will earn the privilege of recording an original single composed and produced by Lee Wei Song and his team, winning prizes worth up to S$25,000.
Recognising the importance of having a healthy voice, this latest Strepsils’ campaign seeks to discover and fuel aspiring local musicians on a wider stage.
“A healthy voice helps people express themselves, so they can keep making their difference in moments that matter. This is even more significant for singing artistes or performers who have to depend on their voices for a living. With Strepsils’ The Right Note competition, we exemplify the importance of treating our voices with care so we can continue to create an impact in moments that matter,” said Hina Nagarajan, General Manager of Reckitt Benckiser Singapore and Malaysia.
” We are very excited to launch this campaign not only in Singapore, but also in Malaysia. We are confident that through this campaign we will discover several hidden vocal talents in support of World Voice Day. With Olivia and Wei Song as our campaign ambassadors, we have two well-established industry stars to provide our budding talents the right guidance to bring out the best elements of their voice and also for their future.”
Reckitt Benckiser is a global consumer goods brand whose portfolio includes Strepils among other other household names.
Olivia Ong added, “As a singer, one of the scariest things that can happen is to lose your voice. Singing is one of my favourite forms of expression and the greatest gift singers have is the ability to tell stories with their voices. I’m delighted to celebrate our voices with Strepsils’ The Right Note campaign, in support of World Voice Day.”
Determined by a combination of votes from Lee Wei Song and the public, the top 5 finalists will be selected to compete for the top spot during the finals which will be announced after the call for submissions end.
“I’m thrilled to be on-board Strepsils’ The Right Note campaign and look forward to the showcase of aspiring vocalists. Hitting the right notes will certainly be a key element in this competition,” said Lee Wei Song, music producer, composer and judge for The Right Note competition.
