District 10 Bar Tapas Restaurant @ Star Vista

Star Vista is fast becoming a foodie haunt for new, interesting restaurants. What’s best is that it is near to Buona Vista MRT station and easily accessible via the Circle Line:

I visited District 10 Bar Tapas Restaurant at Star Vista a few weeks back together with Rachel and Asher. It may seems strange to be bringing a one year old child to a “bar restaurant”, but District 10 is surprising baby-friendly. Baby seats and eat wares are available upon request. The wait staff were also really attentive and helpful.

District 10 serves over 35 tapas and pinchos (spike in Spanish) on their menu. The pinchos, traditionally eaten in bars in Basque in Northern Spain, are moreish small bites skewed on long toothpicks.

Rachel and I found ourselves really spoilt for choice! In the end, we settled on ordering one main course and an assortment of tapas and pinchos to share between us:

Some of the orders which we enjoyed include the Sauteed mushroom with Quail Egg, Sauteed Garlic Prawns with Olive Oil and Grilled Argentinean Rib-eye.

The dishes are generally quite simple fares, but because they come in small servings, it is quite fun to order many to try a bit of everything. Coupled with a glass of wine, beer or house pour, time pass by real quickly. As we brought Asher along and I drove that night, we only ordered a glass of wine for Rachel while I kept myself alcohol free since I am not much of a drinker anyway.

The ambience is pretty cosy for a night out with friends and there is a large television screen showing soccer matches for the football fans:

My son loves the fast beat tracks they were playing all night and was actually dancing along to the music throughout dinner:

We were there on a Monday night and they have a “Crazy Monday” promotion every Monday whereby all house pours go for just S$5 nett from 5pm onwards. Really a pretty good deal. Do visit their official website for the latest promotions at District 10.
