Family Fun at Hong Kong Disneyland – Day 2 Morning

Rachel and Asher meets Mickey Mouse

On the second day of my family trip to Hong Kong Disneyland, all of us woke up early to start the day early as we were anxious to continue exploring the theme park.

Asher had a good night sleep in the hotel cot and was all fresh and chirpy when he woke up:

Good morning!
Rise and shine!

After we got Asher dressed, we headed to the Enchanted Garden Restaurant at Disneyland Hotel for breakfast with Disney characters.

Before breakfast, we took some time to explore the garden maze, gift shop and other surrounding attractions at Disneyland Hotel:

The breakfast experience at Enchanted Garden Restaurant was fantastic!

If you have kids, do bring them here for breakfast. I am sure they will enjoy the interaction and photo-taking with the Disney characters very much, just like Asher did.

Entrance to the Enchanted Garden Restaurant

The restaurant is very child-friendly. Asher was provided with his own baby chair and tableware. The food was international cuisine, buffet-style. They have a wide selection of baby-friendly food like cooked, plain potato, pumpkin and corns with no seasoning. There are also Mickey-shaped pancakes and other cutesy Disney themed food that will appeal to both kids and adults alike.

Asher had a very heavy breakfast, enjoying himself thoroughly:

Asher was very happy to get his own cutlery

Some of the iconic Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy and Donald came around during breakfast for a meet-and-greet session. Beyond just posing for pictures, the characters would also take the opportunity to interact with the children, feeding them food and making everyone very happy:

After a hearty breakfast, we were all energised to explore the park for a full day. Rachel and I decided to take a ride on the Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad tram first to get a quick view of the whole park, following which we will proceed to Tomorrowland to spend the morning at.

Tomorrowland at Hong Kong Disneyland features a space theme with emphasis on metallic trim, dominated by blue and purple hues.

Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story is featured prominently there and there is even a ride called Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.

Many space-themed stuff in Tomorrowland

Other attractions include Space Mountain, Stitch Encounter, Obitron and Autopia.

I am now a thrill-seeker convert. Hence I headed for Space Mountain straight away, wanting to try out the roller coaster in the dark experience. Alas, it was closed for upgrading works. I will visit again next time.

Unable to board Space Mountain, I settled for family fun with my wife and son on the Obitron – a kid-friendly merry-go-round ride:

These two roving muppet characters came by while we were queuing

We headed to queue for the Stitch Encounter comedic talk show after that. The talk show is available in different languages. There is a guide outside the theatre to indicate the show timing for different language shows. We happened to sat in for the Cantonese one. Rachel was laughing till her face turned purple at all the jokes and audience interaction. As my Cantonese is weak, I could only catch about 50% of the jokes. Nonetheless it was still pretty enjoyable. Asher was actually clapping along with Stitch at some point!

Our last stop at Tomorrowland was at the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. It turned out to be really fun and one of Rachel’s favourite ride in Hong Kong Disneyland! Rachel and Asher could not get enough of the colourful neon lights and visual effects for the ride and we went back for a second consecutive ride even though the queue was long.

To infinity and beyond!

This will conclude our morning excursion on our second day in Hong Kong Disneyland. Stay tuned for my next update. 🙂
