For more than four decades since Wendy’s has been in operation, founder Dave Thomas’ compassion for children is still incorporated into the philosophy of the restaurant, through initiatives like the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids adoption program in the US.
Now, two years after their successful return to our shores, Wendy’s Singapore is continuing Dave’s legacy. Partnering with The Salvation Army Gracehaven, Singapore, Wendy’s Singapore provided their children with an afternoon of fun and great tasting food.
Wendy’s recently hosted ‘Happy Moments for Every Child at Wendy’s’ at its Liat Towers outlet. The theme of the event was inspired by the idea that it is the little moments in life that come together to build a portrait of a happy childhood and whether it is a weekend lunch with parents or an outing with friends, Wendy’s wants to provide as many of those happy moments as possible.
In line with the event, Wendy’s also introduced its brand new Dave’s Hot ‘N Juicy Cheeseburger. Considered a complete “taste-lift” of its 42-year-old signature hamburger, Dave’s Hot ‘N Juicy™ Cheeseburger is an homage to Wendy’s founder, Dave Thomas, and is the hottest and juiciest in the company’s history.
“More than 40 years ago, my father named Wendy’s after me,” said Wendy Thomas. “Now, we get to name our hottest and juiciest cheeseburger after him. It would make him proud – and hungry!”
As Wendy’s thickest, hottest and juiciest burger ever, Dave’s Hot ‘N Juicy Cheeseburger is made with 100 percent Australian beef without fillers, additives, preservatives or flavor boosters. Complemented by a buttered, toasted bun for added flavor and texture, the burger comes with an assortment of toppings like lettuce, tomato, melted American cheese, red oniong rings, crinkle-cut dill pickles, ketchup and real mayonnaise. The burger also has a naturally-square shape that consumers associate with Wendy’s.
More than two years went into the development of Dave’s Hot ‘N Juicy Cheeseburger, with input coming from 10,000 consumers.
Even the packaging received an overhaul. Every Dave’s Hot ‘N Juicy Cheeseburger is wrapped in wax paper and placed in a customized half-box designed to enhance the eating experience by protecting the cheeseburger.
Last week, I poped by Wendy’s at Bras Basah and ordered a Dave’s Hot ‘N Juicy Cheeseburger 1/2 Pound Double Combo meal for takeaway, together with some other items to share with Rachel for dinner.
The giant burger tastes great!
The ingredient went well together and we appreciate the half-box packaging which made wolfing down the chunky burger less messy.
