Earlier in May this year, omy.sg, Singapore’s leading bilingual news and entertainment portal and Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao launched Singapore’s first “Mobile News Magazine App” on Android Google Play store.
The mobile news magazine app called “Vice Ring Probe” (《新闻大事件系列~名人嫖雏妓案》), presents a complete picture of the recent news on the Singapore online vice ring in an easy-to-read news magazine format for the mobile smartphone platform.
Besides news articles, the app also features photo and video galleries aggregated from omy.sg, as well as exclusive multimedia content, only available in the app.
Content highlights include:
– Latest profile summaries of the 48 charged male suspects
– An exclusive video interview with female bloggers on the social escort scene in Singapore
– Exclusive interviews with young female bloggers cum models on the “cyber-baiting” phenomenon and how young girls fall into underage prostitution
Four preview videos from the app, featuring bloggers Kiyomi Lim, Venice Jacob and Janice Goh have just been released. You can watch them below:

Retailing at S$2.49 (USD1.99), the app promises value-for-money for the consumer with a full picture of the breaking news that can be read leisurely like a digital magazine on Android OS mobile phones at the reader’s own time and convenience.
As a special promotion, the app will be sold at an introductory price of S$1.24 (USD0.99) for the first month, S$0.44 more than a print copy of Lianhe Wanbao. Promotion rate ends on 22 June 2012 (quickly download now!). For more information on download, please scan the QR code or log on to www.omy.sg.
