Rachel and I have been eating at Nex frequently. Nex is just one MRT station away from our current residence and there is a 24 hour supermarket for grocery shopping, not to mention a library for us to get children books as well as many shops for children.
When we bring Asher out, it is important to find a restaurant that is child-friendly. Lai Lai Casual Dining (来来红烧牛肉面) at Nex is one such restaurant. It is spacious and relatively quiet if you sit towards the end of the restaurant near the window.
The staff are very polite and helpful. Lai Lai serves a variety of simple Taiwanese dishes, with their speciality being their beef noodle and braised beef. I like to eat beef and it suits me well.
They have a good selection of Taiwanese beverages, ranging from brewed fruit and herbal teas to bubble teas and fusion juices. One is really spoilt for choices looking through their drinks menu.
Prices are very reasonable, averaging around $10 to $15 per pax for a meal plus beverage.
Rachel and I ordered their two person set meal which came up to around $30. This came with a soup of the day, a serving of vegetable, a meat dish and another side dish:
