I was in Bangkok two weeks ago to attend the Asian Publishing Awards. I extended my trip for another 4D3N to take a break from work.
During my extended trip, I stayed at Citadines Sukhumvit 23, Bangkok, via AsiaWebDirect.com.
Citadines Sukhumvit 23 is one of four serviced residences operated by The Ascott Limited. The other three are located within the same vicinity in Sukhumvit 8, 11 and 16. They are named Citadines Sukhumvit 8, Citadines Sukhumvit 11 and Citadines Sukhumvit 16 respectively. All are pretty similar in style and operation.
Strategically located near prime business districts and major office complexes, Citadines Sukhumvit 23 is well-positioned for business travelers. For casual travelers, you will find many of the amenities in Citadines perfect for your travel needs like I did:
The residence is around ten minutes walk to the Ashok BTS Skytrain. If you are too lazy to walk, Citadines provide free Tuk-tuk shuttle service to-and-fro the station. Just inform the reception to book the Tuk-tuk which comes in less than 5 minutes.
Citadines 23 comprises both studios and one-bedroom apartment. I was staying in a studio apartment, ideal for a lone traveler though it can comfortably fit two persons as well.
What I like most about Citadines was their free wireless internet access which many hotels would love to charge you arms and legs for. They do not limit the internet access to only one electronic device like some other hotels. This makes sense for a geek like me as I would like to be connected online on my tablet, smartphone and laptop at the same time.
Also, as a serviced residences, each room comes with a fully-equipped kitchen, complete with pots, pans, stoves, utensils and even a microwave oven. These were very handy for me as I like to buy street food and fruits back to the hotel to eat.
For quality assurance, Citadines is a member of CapitaLand, a well-known property giant in Singapore that needs no introduction. 🙂
If you are planning a trip to Bangkok, do consider Citadines Sukhumvit 23. Room rates starts from 1580 THB (just around S$64 a night) as listed on AsiaWebDirect.com currently.
