Earlier in June this year, Rachel and I held our traditional wedding banquet at Peony Jade (玉河畔) @ Clarke Quay. We chose the restaurant simply because the food was great. We wanted our guests to enjoy their food, rather than the generic wedding banquet fares served at most hotels here.
The restaurant has received good reviews from critics and picked up several culinary awards. Here are some of their awards, lifted from their website:
* Voted Singapore Tatler’s Best Restaurants 2006 to 2009
* Voted Wine & Dine’s Top Restaurants 2006 to 2009
* Singapore Gourmet Hunt Best Dish Award 2006
* Winner of the Singapore Food Festival 2006 New Dish Creation
My parents like the food at Peony Jade so much that we dined there on a few more occasions. The photos below were taken during a family meal to celebrate my mom’s birthday, with my dad picking up the tab. We ordered their 6 pax, 8 courses set menu at $228++.
As we do not take Shark’s Fin, we swapped it for a cod fish scallop soup and got to change our dessert and a few other items for the same price.
The restaurant’s details are as below:
Address: 3A River Valley Road, #02-02, Clarke Quay Singapore
Tel: +65 6338 0305
Opening Hours: Daily, 11am–3pm, 6pm–11pm
More information is available on their official website. Peony Jade has another branch restaurant in Keppel Club. We had dined there to try out the food for our wedding, but had settled on Clarke Quay instead. The quality is not comparable to their main restaurant at Clarke Quay though it is less crowded, has a nicer ambient and is more spacious.
