Took this picture during my visit to the old city hall for the Singapore Biennale 2008. There were many “AHU Rooms” spotted in the building.
Pardon me for being a potential suakoo. Anyone can enlighten me what the heck is an AHU Room? A room for people named Ah Hu to enter only?
Hmm… or was this one of the installation artwork for the Biennale?

architect’s reply: Air Handling Unit rooms. treat it as a gigantic compressor box of your home aircon. it needs to be housed in a room because of its scale and size. it is where filters are to recycle the air input and output in ducts connected to every space in a floor for airconditioning.
Thanks dude. 🙂 Where are you now? Still in Singapore?
no problem. yeah still in s’pore dude.

Air Handling unit room. Seems like the building was large enough, hence it required so many AHU room.
