Harry PotterTM: The Exhibition opened at ArtScience Museum on 2 June and will be run through 30 September 2012. Its first stop in Asia, this exciting and interactive exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to view iconic props, costumes and creatures displayed in immersive settings inspired by the Harry Potter film series.
Thanks to the folks from ArtScience Museum, I attended the media preview tour in the morning of 1 June, the day before its official opening.
At the session, we went on a tour of the exhibition with its creator, Mr Eddie Newquist, and ArtScience Museum’s Executive Director, Mr Nick Dixon.
During the press conference, we were greeted by two surprise guests – the actors who played the role of the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter movies!

Hogwarts™ Arrival: Entrance to the exhibition; here, you will see a replica of the Hogwarts Express.
Gryffindor™ Common Room: The common room, decorated in Gryffindor’s colors of scarlet and gold, is home to memorable props like, Hermione’s Time-Turner, wizard money, and assorted wands.
Gryffindor™ Boys’ Dormitory: Step into the boys’ dormitory and you will find props used by Harry Potter and Ron Weasley™, including Harry’s glasses and wand, the Marauder’s Map and the Howler™ sent to Ron by Mrs Weasley.
Hogwarts Classes: Walk through the classrooms in Hogwarts where you will see costumes of the professors and textbooks for the different subjects. You can even try your hand at pulling a squealing Mandrake out of a pot in the Herbology classroom.
Quidditch™: Fans of this unique game in the Harry Potter films will find uniforms of the various teams as well as the balls and broomsticks used in the matches. Try out your shooting skills by throwing Quaffles through golden hoops.
Hagrid’s Hut: Step into Hagrid’s living quarters, complete with giant chairs, a table and a fireplace. You can also find props like dragon eggs, animal cages and his trusty pink umbrella.
The Forbidden Forest: Wander into the Forbidden Forest and find life-size models of magical creatures like a Centaur, a Thestral, and a giant Acromantula.
Dark Forces: Evil lurks in this part of the exhibition where the costumes of Voldemort™ and his Death Eaters can be found. Get up close to Tom Riddle’s diary and a petrified Colin Creevy as you explore the darker side of Harry Potter’s world.
Great Hall: The Great Hall section in the exhibition features costumes from the Yule Ball, and props like the Triwizard Cup and O.W.L. exam papers.
Finally, there is the Gift Shop where you can find many exclusive and interesting Harry Potter souvenirs:

Harry Potter fans are going to go crazy, immersing themselves into the world of Hogwarts.
Ticket prices to the Harry Potter exhibition starts at S$13 for children (aged 2 to 12) and S$20 for adults (Singapore residents). More details on the exhibition is available via the official website.
