As part of the year-long celebrations for the 60th Anniversary of Singapore and Japan Diplomatic Relations (SJ60), the Embassy of Japan in Singapore, the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) Singapore Office, and The Japan Council of Local Authorities for International Relations, Singapore (J.CLAIR Singapore) have launched the “GO Share Japan Lah!” Photo and Video Contest, inviting the public to share their favourite travel experiences in Japan through photography and videography.
Running from 1 July to 13 September 2026, the contest celebrates the many ways Singaporeans experience Japan throughout the year. Participants are encouraged to submit images and videos capturing the country’s distinct seasonal landscapes and cultural experiences, from spring cherry blossoms and vibrant summer festivals to autumn foliage and winter snow covered scenery. This year’s edition also introduces a new video category, giving travellers another creative way to tell their Japan stories.
A total of eleven prizes are up for grabs, including six grand prizes and five runner-up prizes. Grand prizes include economy class return air tickets from Singapore to Japan sponsored by All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines, a FUJIFILM X T30 III camera with an Instax SQUARE Link printer, a Nikon Z50II with NIKKOR Z DX 16 to 50mm lens, a Sony α6700 APS-C mirrorless camera, and a complimentary two-night stay for two at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo.
Runner up prizes include a Canon PIXMA TS8870 inkjet printer, a JR EAST PASS, a bottle of TOKACHI WINE “JEWEL OF TOKACHI 2021”, a S$300 travel voucher, and an assortment of regional mascot character merchandise.
Winners will receive their prizes during an award ceremony in November 2026, with the winning entries also set to be exhibited at the Japan Creative Centre.
To participate, entrants must submit photographs or videos taken in Japan on or after 1 January 2024. Participants may submit up to three entries in each category before the closing date of 13 September 2026 at 11.59pm Singapore time through the official online application form. Winners will be notified by email in early November 2026, with only successful entrants being contacted.
The judging panel will be looking for entries that best capture the unique beauty and character of Japan’s four seasons. Organisers are also encouraging submissions taken beyond Japan’s major metropolitan areas, including Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Aichi, Kyoto, Osaka and Hyogo, to showcase lesser-known destinations and experiences across the country.
