Tiong Bahru Plaza is teaming up with PlayMade to bring back the popular Pickleball Playground this June, turning its outdoor common area near UOB into a lively community sports space from 13 to 21 June 2026. The activation will feature tournaments, family programmes and open court sessions as part of a wider effort to encourage active lifestyles and social connection in the neighbourhood.

The Pickleball Playground is part of Tiong Bahru Plaza’s flagship offering under the Shop, Eat, Play summer campaign, which runs across Frasers Property Singapore malls from 25 May to 28 June 2026. The return of the event reflects the mall’s continued placemaking efforts to transform everyday spaces into shared community environments that encourage interaction and participation.
Now in its second year, the Pickleball Playground has quickly become a highlight for visitors, tapping on the rising popularity of pickleball in Singapore. Known for being easy to learn and suitable for all ages, the sport fits well with the mall’s goal of creating inclusive and accessible experiences for residents and shoppers.
Competitive action will take place on 13, 14 and 20 June 2026 with Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles tournaments. Each team will pay a registration fee of $50 per pair and participants will receive exclusive goodie bags featuring Tiong Bahru Plaza retailer vouchers and products. Winners will take home FRx Gift Cards, with prizes of up to $400 for first place, $300 for second place and $150 for third place.
In celebration of Father’s Day, the activation will conclude on 21 June 2026 with a Father and Child Tournament. Open to teams consisting of one male adult and one child aged 6 to 12, the event carries a registration fee of $30 per pair and aims to encourage bonding through sport while offering families a meaningful way to celebrate the occasion together.
Families looking to introduce children to the sport can also take part in the Summer Kids Pickleball Camp, held from 17 to 19 June 2026 from 10am to 12pm daily at the outdoor court near UOB. Designed for children aged 6 to 12, the sessions will be led by professional coaches and focus on building coordination, teamwork and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. FRx members who spend $30 in a single transaction at participating stores can redeem a sign-up code to join the camp for $10 per child, with limited slots available on a first come first served basis.
Beyond competitions and camps, open court sessions will be available from 15 to 19 June and 22 to 25 June 2026 between 10am and 8pm. FRx members who spend $80 in up to two same day same mall transactions can redeem a two-hour court rental session, with booking passes available for collection at the Concierge on Level 2.
Shoppers can also take part in a Pick and Personalise booth experience from 12 to 14 June and 19 to 21 June 2026 between 1pm and 6pm. With a minimum spend of $60 in up to two same day same mall transactions, participants can create their own pickleball themed keychain featuring a paddle charm, a 3D pickleball and a mystery charm. Each keychain also comes with a Lucky Dip chance to win prizes such as FRx Gift Cards, tumblers, sports towels and retailer vouchers.
Tiong Bahru Plaza said the Pickleball Playground reflects its broader placemaking vision to activate outdoor spaces for community use, supporting movement, participation and social connection beyond traditional retail experiences. Located in a neighbourhood known for its heritage charm and strong community spirit, the mall continues to position itself as a social hub for everyday living.
