Leica Cine Compact 1 Brings Big Screen Cinema Experience in a Portable Mini Projector

Leica has unveiled its latest innovation in home entertainment with the launch of the Leica Cine Compact 1, a compact mini projector designed to deliver cinema quality visuals and sound in a highly flexible and portable format.

Developed by Leica Smart Projection, the Cine Compact 1 combines advanced laser technology with the brand’s long standing optical expertise to offer a plug and play home cinema experience. The device is capable of projecting up to a 220-inch display with brightness of up to 1,700 lumens, making it suitable for use in living rooms, gardens, terraces and even ceiling projections thanks to its 360-degree rotation system.

At the core of the projector is a Leica Summicron zoom lens with aspherical elements, paired with a 0.47-inch DMD image chip and Triple RGB laser technology. This combination enables 4K resolution output with sharp detail, natural colours and high brightness levels. Leica’s proprietary image processing system, known as Leica Image Optimization, further enhances visual quality across different screen sizes and environments, while Dolby Vision support ensures strong contrast and smooth brightness transitions.

The Cine Compact 1 is designed for ease of use, featuring automatic setup functions including autofocus, zoom, keystone correction and intelligent screen framing. These features allow users to achieve a properly aligned image with minimal manual adjustment. Its 360-degree rotation capability also allows projection from almost any angle, increasing flexibility in how and where it can be used.

In terms of connectivity, the device runs on the VIDAA operating system, providing direct access to major streaming platforms such as Netflix, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime Video. It also supports WiFi, Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay, Apple HomeKit, HDMI and USB connections, making it compatible with a wide range of devices and home setups. Audio performance is supported by built in speakers with Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS Virtual X technologies, while Bluetooth 5.4 and HDMI allow for external speaker connections.

The projector is housed in a solid aluminium body with a glass front, designed in a Bauhaus inspired style that emphasises durability, optical precision and thermal efficiency. Leica states that the energy efficient Triple RGB laser system is built for long term performance with sustained brightness over time.

A sustainable transport case made from recyclable EPP material is included, offering safe storage and portability while replacing traditional packaging materials.

The Leica Cine Compact 1 will be available from 18 June 2026 in multiple regions including Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Canada, with a recommended retail price of 2,400 Singapore dollars in Asia markets including Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
