Singapore Oceanarium Launches Exclusive “Animal Spotlight: Seahorses” Guided Experience

Singapore Oceanarium is inviting visitors to explore the secret world of Singapore’s native seahorses through its latest programme, Animal Spotlight: Seahorses. This exclusive 45-minute guided session offers an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at local marine biodiversity, with groups limited to just eight participants per session.

Up-Close Encounters with Seahorses

Participants will journey through key habitats within the oceanarium before gaining access to the newly opened Seahorse Support Area. Here, visitors can observe feeding sessions and learn about the specialised care, breeding, and husbandry practices that go into keeping these delicate marine creatures healthy.

Seahorses are renowned for their unique biology, including male pregnancy and specialised hunting techniques. They play an important role in coastal ecosystems but face growing threats from habitat loss, pollution, and incidental capture in fishing operations. Through this programme, participants gain a deeper understanding of these challenges as well as ongoing regional conservation initiatives.

Conservation in Action

The programme also highlights how Singapore Oceanarium contributes to seahorse conservation. Guests will learn about monitoring surveys and collaborative projects across Southeast Asia, aimed at safeguarding wild seahorse populations and their habitats.

By combining education, engagement, and conservation awareness, Animal Spotlight: Seahorses allows participants to connect with marine life in a meaningful and memorable way.
