Manulife Singapore Issues US$300 Million Life Policy, Strengthening High-Net-Worth Leadership

Manulife Singapore has issued a single US$300 million life insurance policy, marking a significant milestone in the high-net-worth (HNW) insurance segment and reinforcing its position as a leading provider of large-scale wealth preservation solutions.

The policy was issued and underwritten by Manulife Singapore, underscoring the insurer’s ability to structure complex and sizeable legacy planning arrangements. The transaction highlights the increasing sophistication of HNW clients, who are seeking insurers with financial strength, cross-border expertise and the capability to support multi-generational wealth strategies.

Singapore’s Growing Role in HNW Wealth Management

Singapore’s political stability, strong regulatory framework and position as a regional financial hub continue to attract high-net-worth individuals and families. As wealth in Asia grows, insurers are seeing rising demand for customised protection, wealth accumulation and succession planning solutions.

Over the past 12 months, Manulife Singapore has issued 25 individual life policies valued at more than US$50 million each, reflecting sustained momentum in the HNW segment and a growing appetite for comprehensive legacy planning tools.

Track Record of Innovation in Universal Life Solutions

Manulife Singapore has built a longstanding presence in the HNW space, beginning with the launch of its Universal Life offering in 2010. It later introduced Variable Universal Life in 2017 and became the first insurer in Singapore to roll out Indexed Universal Life in 2019.

Recent product developments include:

  • March 2025: Signature Indexed Income, combining Indexed Universal Life growth potential with lifetime income payouts and flexible payout timing.
  • April 2025: Signature Indexed Universal Life Select (III), offering access to five global indices, including the Asia debut of the S&P GSCI Gold ER Index.
  • January 2026: Signature Legacy Harvest, a USD participating whole life plan tailored for HNW families, featuring options such as a Contingent Policy Owner provision and a Death Benefit Inheritance Option to facilitate structured intergenerational wealth transfer.

Backed by Global Strength

With more than 125 years of service in Singapore and the global backing of Manulife, which manages approximately C$1.7 trillion in assets under management worldwide, Manulife Singapore continues to invest in underwriting capabilities, digital innovation and advisor support to deliver high-touch solutions for affluent clients.
