Hangyodon Makes a Splash in Singapore Oceanarium With Photo Spots, Exclusive Merchandise and Treats

Sanrio fans, get ready to dive into a world of fun and learning! From now until 4 January 2026, Singapore Oceanarium at Resorts World Sentosa is hosting Hangyodon Marine Discovery, Southeast Asia’s first-ever immersive Hangyodon experience.

This festive adventure celebrates Hangyodon’s 40th anniversary and brings his cheerful personality and love for the ocean to life in playful, interactive ways.

Hangyodon and his trusty sidekick, Sayuri the Octopus, lead visitors through a colourful underwater journey. Children and adults alike can explore interactive discovery trails that blend storytelling, touch panels, and conservation learning. Lift the flaps to reveal bite-sized marine facts and interesting details about coral, sharks, and intertidal creatures as you move through the exhibits.

The experience is as visually fun as it is educational. From a 5.5-metre giant inflatable greeting visitors at the entrance to life-size installations of Hangyodon and Sayuri, photo opportunities are everywhere.

Marine life is reimagined in Hangyodon’s quirky style, creating countless Instagram-worthy moments for the whole family.

For a chance to meet Hangyodon in person, head to the Open Ocean zone at 3 pm daily for a meet-and-greet session. On Fridays, weekends, and public holidays, there’s an additional 12 pm session. You can also spot other mascots like Mika the manta ray, Singapore Oceanarium’s very own mascot.

Hangyodon Marine Discovery makes learning accessible even to younger visitors. It’s a playful, educational, and memorable experience for the whole family, combining fun, discovery, and a hands-on approach to ocean conservation. Visitors can get up close to fascinating marine life, including starfish, sea cucumbers, and corals, and even touch some of these creatures in specially designed interactive areas.

For a deeper dive into marine care, the Animal Spotlight: Corals with Hangyodon programme offers a behind-the-scenes look at coral care.

Participants visit support areas, see animal care specialists in action, and learn about coral propagation. This 45-minute programme is suitable for ages 4 and above, priced at $28 per person, and comes with a limited-edition Hangyodon lanyard.

Foodies can enjoy Hangyodon-themed treats such as the mantou, festive croffle, and frosty gelato topped with the adorable character.

After refuelling, stop by Tidal Trove or the Singapore Oceanarium Store to pick up limited-edition merchandise from plushies to keychains, mugs, totes, and more. Just be prepared for the kids to want to take everything home!
