Grand Copthorne Waterfront Celebrates Heritage and the Lunar New Year with Peranakan Buffet & Festive Feasts in 2026

Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore is set to kick off 2026 with a vibrant celebration of heritage, culture, and festive cheer. This January, the hotel’s signature restaurant, Food Capital, will debut its first-ever Riverside Peranakan Feast alongside an extensive line-up of Chinese New Year buffets, reunion dinners, afternoon teas, hampers, and takeaway sets to usher in the Year of the Horse.

A Landmark Debut: Riverside Peranakan Feast

Launching on 2 January 2026, the inaugural Peranakan Buffet pays tribute to the richness of Peranakan culture through food, fashion, music, and storytelling.

A special launch event on 6 January, co-curated with The Peranakan Association Singapore (TPAS), will feature:

  • A kebaya showcase led by award-winning heritage advocate Baba Raymond Wong
  • Performances by The Peranakan Voices choir
  • A lively appearance from Chef Shirley Tay, the “Singing Chef,” who will unveil a new collection of traditional recipes
  • Retail stalls offering authentic kebaya, batik, beaded slippers, and Peranakan delicacies

From 2 January to 8 February, diners can enjoy rotating menus of heritage dishes, including Deep-fried Pomfret with Sambal Chilli, Bakwan Kepiting, Kachang Bendi Chincalok, and Goreng Assam Udang.

Lunch (Mon–Sat, 12pm–2:30pm): $72++ adult | $36++ child
Dinner (Sun–Thu, 6pm–10pm): $102++ adult | $51++ child
Dinner (Fri–Sat): $112++ adult | $56++ child
Children 5 and under dine free.

The collaboration also comes at a symbolic moment, following the kebaya’s recent inscription on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, underscoring a renewed commitment to keeping Peranakan heritage alive.

Welcoming the Year of the Horse with Festive Feasts

From 9 February to 3 March 2026, Food Capital transforms into a celebratory haven with Chinese New Year buffets that blend Peranakan favourites, festive classics, and international selections. (Festive buffet not available from 16–18 February.)

Reunion Specials (16–18 February 2026)

Families are invited to gather for meaningful reunion feasts featuring auspicious dishes.

Two seatings: 5:30pm–7:30pm & 8:00pm–10:00pm
Full prepayment is required, with 25% off for payments made by 10 January 2025.

Peranakan & Chinese New Year Afternoon Tea

At The Lobby Lounge, guests can indulge in two themed afternoon tea experiences, each served with a curated Pryce Tea pairing and the lounge’s beloved unlimited scone trolley.

Peranakan Afternoon Tea (2 Jan – 8 Feb)

Savory delights include GCW Laksa, Ayam Buah Keluak, Ngo Hiang, Satay Babi, and more, paired with desserts such as Pulut Hitam Cake, Ondeh Swiss Roll, and Durian Pengat Cream Puff.

Chinese New Year Afternoon Tea (9 Feb – 3 Mar)

Festive bites feature Bak Kwa with Cheddar, Lychee Prawn, Chicken Floss & Egg Mayo, and Forest Mushroom Tartlet, complemented by CNY Fortune Macarons, Kumquat Orange Delight, and Pistachio Chocolate Choux.

Afternoon Tea Pricing:
$68++ for two with Pryce Sparkling Tea
$108++ for two with Devaux Coeur des Bar Blanc de Noirs
Includes a pot of coffee or tea.

Festive Hampers & Takeaway Highlights

For celebrations at home, Food Capital offers Prosperity Yu Sheng at $38++ (6 pax) and $58++ (10 pax).
Two premium Chinese New Year hampers are also available:
