Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore is set to kick off 2026 with a vibrant celebration of heritage, culture, and festive cheer. This January, the hotel’s signature restaurant, Food Capital, will debut its first-ever Riverside Peranakan Feast alongside an extensive line-up of Chinese New Year buffets, reunion dinners, afternoon teas, hampers, and takeaway sets to usher in the Year of the Horse.
Launching on 2 January 2026, the inaugural Peranakan Buffet pays tribute to the richness of Peranakan culture through food, fashion, music, and storytelling.
A special launch event on 6 January, co-curated with The Peranakan Association Singapore (TPAS), will feature:
From 2 January to 8 February, diners can enjoy rotating menus of heritage dishes, including Deep-fried Pomfret with Sambal Chilli, Bakwan Kepiting, Kachang Bendi Chincalok, and Goreng Assam Udang.

The collaboration also comes at a symbolic moment, following the kebaya’s recent inscription on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, underscoring a renewed commitment to keeping Peranakan heritage alive.
From 9 February to 3 March 2026, Food Capital transforms into a celebratory haven with Chinese New Year buffets that blend Peranakan favourites, festive classics, and international selections. (Festive buffet not available from 16–18 February.)
