AirAsia X Unlocks Affordable Travel to Türkiye with New Kuala Lumpur–Istanbul Route

AirAsia X (AAX) has officially expanded its long-haul network with the launch of its inaugural direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul, opening up greater value and seamless Fly-Thru connectivity for travellers from Singapore and across the region.

Flight D7 604 took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 on 14 November 2025 at 9:35AM and touched down at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport at 4:05PM local time, marking a historic milestone for AAX as it strengthens air links between Asean and one of Eurasia’s most exciting cultural and economic hubs.

The new service is AAX’s first-ever route to Türkiye, underscoring the airline’s commitment to extending its footprint beyond Asia and making long-haul destinations more accessible and affordable.

Istanbul, renowned for its rich Islamic heritage and vibrant halal tourism scene, offers travellers an enchanting mix of ancient wonders and contemporary energy. From iconic landmarks like Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace to colourful markets, lively neighbourhoods, and diverse culinary delights, the city promises an unforgettable experience straddling both Europe and Asia.

AAX will operate four weekly flights to Istanbul, providing over 150,000 seats annually. To celebrate the launch, the airline is rolling out special all-in one-way fares starting from just SGD395 for flights from Singapore to Istanbul via Kuala Lumpur.
