[Review] Sushi Tei’s Mofusand Collab is a Cute, Cleverly Executed Dining Experience

Walking into the Sushi Tei at Raffles City last Thursday felt less like entering a restaurant and more like stepping into a life-sized Mofusand collector’s box. The space has been taken over by the brand’s signature aesthetic, with the iconic Shark Meow peeking out from walls and tables.

We were there for a media preview of the upcoming Sushi Tei x Mofusand collaboration. This collaboration, which will begin running from 5 November to 5 January 2026, is solid proof that sometimes, the ambiance is just as important in enhancing the overall dining experience, on top of quality food.

The limited-time menu is extensive, featuring a range of dishes from sashimi to hotpots. We sampled a broad selection and found the food to be consistently what you would expect from a reliable chain like Sushi Tei: solid, dependable, and satisfying without any major surprises.

We began with the Kinmedai Sashimi ($18.80), which was fresh and clean-tasting, as a good golden-eye snapper should be.

The Mount Temari ($10.80) was a visual highlight, its colourful sushi balls and a cat-shaped rice ball by the side for an overload on cuteness. The mix of salmon, prawn, tuna, and squid with a special sauce was a pleasant, bite-sized starter.

Similarly, the Neko Ebi Roll ($14.80) delivered a satisfying crunch from its deep-fried prawn core, with the yuzu mayonnaise adding a nice zesty note.

The Tochigi Wagyu Steak ($38.80) featured A4 striploin that was tender and cooked well. It is a safe bet for those seeking a more premium option.

The Cheesy Corn Tori Yaki ($11.80), sizzling on its hotplate was a crowd-pleasing dish of grilled chicken with molten cheese and sweet corn. This was surprisingly delightful, despite its simplicity.

The Double Fry Curry Pasta ($16.80) was a hearty curry pasta with crispy fried seafood, while the Kaisen Yasai Nabe ($23.80) offered a light and comforting broth filled with a decent assortment of seafood.

Next comes a trio of colourful white grape drinks, infused with different flavours. The collaboration mocktails like the Watermelon Sunset, Kappa Breeze and Emerald Sunrise are refreshing and, most cleverly, each come with a unique Mofusand coaster you can take home, a small but smart touch.

For dessert, the Cookie and Cream Cheesecake ($7.80) ends the meal on a sweet, creamy note.

The real draw for fans will undoubtedly be the free limited-edition collectibles.

The strategy of releasing different items like acrylic keychains, embroidery pouches, and plush sets every Wednesday gives diners a tangible reason to return and engage with the promotion repeatedly. Here’s how to get your hands on them:
