Singapore Stories 2025 Showcases Fashion with Purpose

The Sands Expo and Convention Centre lit up with Singapore Stories 2025, a multinational fashion showcase presented by the Singapore Fashion Council (SFC). Now in its eighth edition, the event brought together designers from six countries who redefined the runway with bold ideas rooted in sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity.

Graced by Guest-of-Honour Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs & Home Affairs, the evening celebrated Asian craftsmanship while advancing SFC’s mission to transform Singapore into a hub for responsible fashion. This year’s theme, “Fashion Futures,” underscored the role of design in addressing sustainability and equity in the global industry.

Fashion Futures on the Runway

Ten designers from Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Australia debuted capsule collections of five looks each, unveiling 50 transformative designs that embodied the theme:

• Innovation in Materials: Vietnam’s Kha Hoang Ngo reimagined rice sacks and instant noodle packaging into striking garments, while Australia’s Xizhu Wu incorporated reflective and UV-reactive yarns inspired by the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid.
• Innovation in Production: Singapore’s Putri Adif fused traditional Kebaya patterns with 3D printing, collaborating with regional artisans to complete her collection.
• Future-Forward Design: Cambodia’s Tifanny Bophadavy Doche crafted adaptable, modular looks with detachable elements, including garments that transform into tote bags.
• Social Responsibility: Singaporean designer Bhajinger Kaur partnered with local textile artisans and pledged profits to charities supporting marginalised women.

In the audience vote, Celest Thoi was crowned winner, with Aurelia Carissa and Tifanny Bophadavy Doche named first and second runners-up respectively. From January to March 2026, selected designs will be available for purchase and pre-order at Design Orchard.

Celebrating Inclusivity: Every Body Matters

As part of its push for a more inclusive industry, SFC also announced winners of the “Every Body Matters” Inclusive Design Fashion Competition, launched in partnership with SHEIN. The initiative invited designers worldwide to create collections celebrating diversity in body, identity, and ability.

• Adaptive Fashion Winner: UK-based Sheila Langton, founder of Every Body is Beautiful (EBIB), promoting self-love across all shapes and abilities.
• Sports & Active Lifestyle Winner: Charllene Santos from Brazil, designer and educator leading impactful fashion projects at SENAI CETIQT.
• Tech-Integrated Wearable Fashion Winners: Yuhan Li, Yuanpu Ai, and Yarlin Ng from Tokyo Mode Gakuen’s Fashion Technology department.
