Science Centre Singapore to Unveil Largest-Ever Dinosaur Exhibition This October

Get ready to come face-to-face with giants of the past as Science Centre Singapore presents its most ambitious showcase yet. Opening 11 October 2025, DINOSAURS | EXTINCTIONS | US promises a supersized prehistoric encounter unlike anything seen before in Singapore.

In partnership with the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (National University of Singapore), this landmark exhibition brings together two internationally acclaimed showcases Dinosaurs of Patagonia and Six Extinctions for the very first time.

A Journey Through 400 Million Years

Spanning 3,000 square metres, the exhibition transports visitors across 400 million years of Earth’s history. With 33 rare fossils, 60 life-sized models, and three interactive zones, guests will witness the rise and fall of prehistoric life, from the age of dinosaurs to the planet-shaping mass extinction events.

At the heart of Dinosaurs of Patagonia is a breathtaking highlight: a 40-metre cast of the Patagotitan mayorum, one of the largest dinosaurs ever discovered, weighing an estimated 70 tonnes. Visitors will also encounter 13 other fascinating dinosaur species unearthed from South America’s most fertile fossil grounds.

Meanwhile, Six Extinctions by Gondwana Studios charts the planet’s five greatest extinction events, culminating in a sobering exploration of the sixth mass extinction unfolding today. The exhibition features over 30 displays, including a dramatic encounter with “Scotty”, the largest Tyrannosaurus rex ever found.

Singapore’s Own Extinction Story

To connect this global crisis to home, the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum contributes a local perspective with specimens of animals now nationally extinct in Singapore, such as the cream-coloured giant squirrel and the rufous-collared kingfisher. Guests can also explore how modern science is using cutting-edge tools to better understand and prevent future biodiversity loss.
