Nothing Unveils Phone (3) and Headphone (1) in Singapore, Demonstrating Functional Tech can Still be Unique and Beautiful in Design

Earlier this month, design-focused tech brand Nothing launched its highly anticipated flagship smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3), and its first over-ear headphones, the Nothing Headphone (1).

The dual debut took place at Synthesis, a chic restaurant-bar in Suntec City, where media and tech enthusiasts gathered for an exclusive preview. The event showcased Nothing’s signature blend of striking design, premium craftsmanship, and cutting-edge technology, reinforcing its mission to make tech “fun, expressive, and personal” again.

Nothing Phone (3) A Flagship Design That Stands Out

The Nothing Phone (3) marks the brand’s first true flagship, packing top-tier specs while staying true to its distinctive aesthetic.

A key highlight is the Glyph Matrix, an array of micro-LED lights on the rear that serves as a dynamic notification system.

Unlike traditional smartphones that demand constant screen interaction, the Glyph Matrix lets users stay informed with just a glance. You will be able to tailor your own animation on the Glyph Matrix based on your app notification or caller IDs. You can even add playful mini-games like “Spin the Bottle” to impress your friends.

Design and Display

The Phone (3) features a sleek, geometric design with uniform 1.87mm bezels, an IP68 rating, and a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that peaks at 4,500 nits for HDR content.

The screen supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and gaming, while 960Hz PWM dimming reduces eye strain.

Performance and AI Enhancements

Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, the Phone (3) delivers a 36% CPU boost and 88% faster GPU performance compared to its predecessor. AI plays a central role for this flagship model, with features like:

  • Essential Search – A universal smart search for contacts, files, and quick answers.
  • Flip to Record – Transcribes and summarises conversations when the phone is placed face-down.
  • Essential Space – An AI-organized hub for notes and reminders.

Camera and Battery

Although not the highest of specifications for a flagship, photography enthusiasts will still appreciate the pro-grade camera system, featuring a 1/1.3-inch main sensor, lossless optical zoom, and 4K 60fps video across all lenses. These will take care of general photography usage.

A 5,150mAh battery with 65W fast charging ensures all-day power, while 15W wireless charging adds convenience.

Headphone (1): Where Design Meets Acoustic Precision

Alongside the Phone (3), Nothing introduced its first over-ear headphones, the Headphone (1), developed in collaboration with British audio pioneer KEF.

The headphones combine striking transparent elements with high-fidelity sound, targeting both audiophiles and style-conscious listeners.

Immersive Sound and Tactile Controls

The 40mm dynamic drivers, tuned by KEF, deliver rich bass, detailed mids, and crisp highs. Unique tactile controls, including a roller, paddle and button, replace touch panels for more precise adjustments. Features include:

  • Advanced ANC with dual microphones.
  • Spatial Audio with head tracking for a 360-degree soundstage.
  • 35-hour battery life (with ANC on) and LDAC support for high-res audio.

Design and Comfort

Despite its premium, metallic look, the Headphone (1) boasts a lightweight build with aluminium and PU memory foam cushions, ensuring comfort for extended wear.

The case, resembling a mini handbag, adds a stylish touch, perfect for on-the-go users.

Overall, both the Nothing Phone (3) and the Nothing Headphone (1) will appeal strongly to the fashion or design conscious tech consumers at a pretty reasonable price for a premium, unique look. Functional tech can be design-focused and beautiful. Nothing has done it again with these two new launches.
