A Taste of Hong Kong, Reimagined

Inspired by the buzzing streets of Old Town Central and the historic Central Market, the Hong Kong Bar promises visitors a multisensory journey through the city’s cultural layers. At its heart is the show-stopping “Yuen Yeung Martini” — a bold fusion of vodka, coffee, and Hong Kong-style milk tea — designed to energise art lovers and fairgoers alike. A curated menu of cocktails and traditional snacks rounds out the experience, offering a rich taste of Hong Kong’s culinary identity.

The bar’s interiors channel the architectural charm of Central Market — Hong Kong’s first permanent indoor marketplace dating back to the 19th century. Once home to bustling food stalls and lively trade, the revitalised space now symbolises the city’s evolution — a perfect muse for this Art Basel installation that blends tradition with modern flair.

Illuminated by Art: “Under the Moonlight” by Phoebe Hui

Adding a captivating layer to the experience, acclaimed Hong Kong artist Phoebe Hui will debut her new installation, Under the Moonlight. Known for merging art with technology, Hui reimagines the phases of the moon using machine learning to evoke Hong Kong’s dazzling skyline and symbolic cultural motifs. Her moonlit masterpiece brings a dreamlike ambiance to the bar, reflecting both the poetic resilience and ever-changing rhythm of the city.

Showcasing Hong Kong on a Global Stage

HKTB’s participation at Art Basel in Basel marks a milestone in its mission to champion Hong Kong as a global arts and cultural hub. This immersive activation invites visitors to experience the city’s pulse — where heritage, innovation, and artistry converge. It’s a celebration of culture as much as it is a warm invitation to rediscover Hong Kong as a destination that defies boundaries.
