Singapore’s railway history gets a unique new chapter with the launch of Train Pod @ one-north — the nation’s first-ever hotel inside a decommissioned MRT train. Housed in a third-generation Kawasaki-Nippon Sharyo C751B carriage, this transformed train-turned-hotel offers a nostalgic and immersive stay experience like no other.
Set to open for bookings in the second half of 2025, Train Pod features eight compact rooms, each approximately 7.5 square metres, preserving the authentic interior of the MRT carriage that once ran along the North-South and East-West lines from 2000 to 2024.
Each air-conditioned room comes with cozy bunk beds for two, a private en-suite bathroom, and nostalgic touches like the original MRT system map and familiar posters from the Land Transport Authority’s gracious commuting campaign. To complete the experience, guests can unwind with a 30-minute video journey from Redhill to Joo Koon, filmed from the captain’s cabin and viewable on the in-room screen.
The Train Pod was officially launched on April 11 by Senior Minister of State Low Yen Ling, who praised the project’s innovative blend of heritage, sustainability, and hospitality.
