For the first time in its 112-year legacy, Aston Martin’s iconic wings will stand alongside the royal crest of the British sovereign, following the marque’s official recognition by appointment to His Majesty The King.
The prestigious Royal Warrant was confirmed in May 2024, but only now has Aston Martin formally incorporated the Royal Arms into its branding, following the release of King Charles III’s new Royal Crest by the College of Arms—an institution that has overseen royal heraldry since 1484.
Aston Martin’s royal connection spans eight decades, beginning in 1954 when Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, received a Lagonda 3.0 Litre. The following year, The Duke of Kent acquired a DB2/4, sourced from the very team that won the 1955 Monte Carlo Rally.
Perhaps most famous is King Charles III’s beloved DB6 Volante, a symbol of his lifelong passion for the brand. The King has been an Aston Martin Owners Club member since 1973, and the marque has held a Royal Warrant as Motor Car Manufacturer and Repairer to The Prince of Wales since 1982—now elevated to a direct appointment from the sovereign.
The DB6 Volante has made numerous historic appearances, including:
Aston Martin’s Royal Warrant follows its recognition in 2024 with the King’s Award for Enterprise, underscoring the brand’s dedication to innovation, craftsmanship, and British heritage.
