There is a new robot vacuum brand in Singapore and I tested out ECOVACS‘ latest DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI to see how it stacked up against its many competitors.
Upon unboxing, I like how thin it is comparatively.
At just 8.1cm tall, it slid effortlessly under my sofa and racks, reaching areas that thicker models cannot get into. This makes it ideal for small Singaporean homes with cramped layouts. Additionally, its embedded dToF LiDAR and 3D structured light sensors ensure precise navigation, even in dimly lit areas.
Robot vacuums, including the T50, are usually round in shape for mobility, but this would affect their ability to reach tight edges. A key feature of the T50 is its upgraded TruEdge 2.0 technology from earlier models. The T50 is able to dynamically extends its side brush and adjusts the mop plate to maintain 1mm proximity to edges, ensuring no corner is left untouched.
I love this feature because it solves a pet peeve of mine.
The T50 boosts a powerful 15,000Pa suction. The high-speed motor delivers handheld-vacuum-level suction, effortlessly lifting dirt from carpets and hard floors.
It is also noticeably quieter than competitors, making it ideal for night time cleaning.
Pet owners and long-haired residents will appreciate the ZeroTangle 2.0 system, which claims a near 0% hair tangling rate. Our tests confirmed minimal maintenance, with no clogs disrupting suction power. It also save me the unpleasant hassle of pulling out tangled clump of hair when clogging happens.
I am lazy. That’s why I have devices like a robot vacuum at home to save me from housework.
The T50 comes with an all-in-one OMNI Station for charging, cleaning and refilling.
The idea of a robot that empties its own dustbin, washes its mop with 70°C water, and even refills detergent? Sold. After mopping, it even dries the pads with 45°C air, leaving no musty smells in our humidity.
If you are even lazier, you can top up another $350 to get the T50 Auto Water Kit so it can even change water on its own.
As with all new tech gadgets these days, the T50 comes with some AI enhanced smart features. I do not find them necessary, but they are always good to have:
Overall, the ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI is a nifty, thin new entrance to the crowded robot vacuum market in Singapore. The under $2,000 pricing is reasonably attractive compared to other brands and is worth considering.
Colours: White and Black
Pricing: S$1,349 for the DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI with the OMNI station. S$1,699 to add on the T50 Auto Water Kit
