Nothing Announces Second Community Edition Project with Bigger Rewards

London-based tech innovator Nothing is bringing back its Community Edition Project for 2025, building on the massive success of last year’s campaign. With fresh opportunities for co-creation and an enticing £1,000 cash prize for winners, this year’s challenge invites participants to push creative boundaries even further.

In 2024, the Community Edition Project made waves by producing 1,000 limited-edition glow-in-the-dark Phone (2a) Plus models—designed in collaboration with the Nothing community. These exclusive units sold out in just 15 minutes and earned a prestigious Gold iF Design Award.

This year, Nothing has released four new design briefs simultaneously, giving entrants more time to refine their ideas and encouraging collaboration among winners. The briefs focus on the next big release: Phone (3a) Community Edition, offering participants a chance to work directly with Nothing’s team to bring their creations to life.

2025 Community Edition Briefs

  1. Hardware Design: Reimagine the look and feel of Phone (3a).
  2. Accessory Design: Create an exclusive collectible or accessory to pair with the Phone (3a) Community Edition.
  3. Software Design: Develop unique UI elements, such as wallpapers, widgets, or icon packs, to match the phone’s distinctive hardware.
  4. Marketing Campaign: Conceptualize creative deliverables, from launch visuals to events and key campaigns.

Submission Details

  • Dates: Submissions open from March 26 to April 23, 2025.
  • How to Enter: Visit here for entry details, submission guidelines, and full terms and conditions.

With a bigger spotlight on collaboration and creativity, this year’s Community Edition Project offers participants a chance to redefine what technology can look and feel like.
