S.E.A. Aquarium Marks 12 Years of Wonder with a Spectacular Anniversary Celebration

S.E.A. Aquarium is celebrating 12 years of ocean discovery, conservation, and education with a special campaign, “12 Years of Creating Wonder,” running from March 1 to April 30, 2025. As it embarks on an exciting transformation into the Singapore Oceanarium, the aquarium invites visitors to explore immersive exhibits, creative collaborations, and exclusive promotions that highlight its impact and future vision.

Journey Through 12 Years of Marine Magic

Guests can explore specially curated discovery zones that showcase the aquarium’s milestones, conservation efforts, and future goals:

Wall of Fame – Walk through S.E.A. Aquarium’s legacy, from holding the Guinness World Record as the world’s largest aquarium to the launch of the Aquarist Lab, where marine species like Sea Jellies, Seahorses, and Clownfish are nurtured. Visitors can also learn about remarkable marine conservation achievements, including rehabilitated sea turtles and the rare birth of Zebra Sharks.

Treasures of Curios – Dive into the aquarium’s research and conservation breakthroughs, such as its critically endangered Bowmouth Guitarfish breeding program and its underwater MOU signing with NTU-EOS for climate resilience research. Guests can also uncover marine mysteries through interactive lightbox displays featuring species like the Cake Sand Dollar and Horn-eyed Ghost Crab.

Marine Mirage – Get hands-on with marine life at sensory touch stations, where visitors can feel the spiky texture of a Sea Urchin or the smooth, soap-like skin of a Cownose Ray. This zone also features personal stories from aquarists, offering an inside look at animal care.

Ocean Oracle – Young explorers (ages 7-12) can step into the role of a Junior Ocean Detective, using interactive tools to uncover predator-prey relationships, symbiotic partnerships, and marine mysteries.

Evolving Oceans: A Special Art Collaboration

As part of its transition to the Singapore Oceanarium, S.E.A. Aquarium has teamed up with Arts & Disability Singapore (ART:DIS) for a stunning three-part artwork series, “Evolving Oceans: A Symphony of Life.” Led by artist Eugene Soh, the series reflects the past, present, and future of marine biodiversity. Visitors can contribute by joining complimentary marine-themed art workshops, where they will color marine creatures to be featured in the artwork.
