Unleash Your Creativity: Samsung Short & Sharp Film Festival Returns for 2025

Samsung Electronics Singapore has officially launched the 2025 edition of the Short & Sharp Film Festival, its highly anticipated mobile short film competition. Designed to inspire the next wave of storytellers, this festival invites participants to showcase their creativity through impactful short films, all captured on mobile devices.

A Platform for Emerging Talent

This year, Samsung is teaming up with Mediacorp to provide contestants with exclusive insights from industry veterans and trailblazers. Participants will learn how to elevate their storytelling and filmmaking skills while competing for over SGD 7,000 in prizes. All you need is a 60-second short film inspired by this year’s theme: “Supercharging My Now: Finding the Extraordinary in Everyday Singaporean Life.”

Meet the Judges

Entries will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges known for their exceptional contributions to the world of film and digital content creation:

• Loh Woon Woon (Executive Producer, Mediacorp) – Acclaimed for her award-winning drama series Against the Tide, which captivated over 1.8 million viewers across TV and digital platforms.
• Jonathan Chia (Senior Producer, CNA) – Renowned for his raw and gripping documentary Walk the Line, earning international accolades, including the Silver Award at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards.
• Xiong Lingyi (Co-founder, Wah!Banana) – Creative mastermind behind Wah!Banana, a YouTube sensation with over 1 million subscribers, known for her unique blend of humor and storytelling.

1. Create a 60-second video inspired by the theme using any mobile phone.
2. Upload the video publicly on your YouTube channel with the hashtags #GalaxyAI and #ShortAndSharpSG.
